A Fifty Gram bar of fine 24-carat Gold by leading German refiners Heraeus, supplied with serial number and certificate in a handy credit card sized package.
The obverse side of the bar shows the manufacturer’s name, the German for Fine Gold and the .999 purity, as well as the Heraeus stamp, the bar’s weight, and the serial number from its production.
The reverse of the gold bar is smooth and blank but the plastic casing repeats the bar’s weight and purity, as well as stating the assayer who proofed the bar’s quality.
Heraeus was founded in 1851 by the pharmacist and chemist Wilhelm Carl Heraeus in the town of Hanau, who took over his father’s apothecary and used the premises to develop pioneering techniques for smelting platinum on behalf of the local goldsmiths. As time went by his company grew, expanding into other metals, medical technology, and quartz glass.
